DM at UF Wins Best Website

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Keeping with true Gator form, four members of the Dance Marathon 2010 Overall Team brought home another title for the University of Florida this past weekend.

During the Dance Marathon Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, the National Dance Marathon
Office gave an award to Dance Marathon at UF for the best Web site.

Nominees for the award were judged on use of the Dance Marathon and Children’s Miracle
Network logos, prominence of event dates, the inclusion of a countdown to the event date, ease of navigation, and ability to locate contact information about the local hospital and Dance Marathon overall team members.

Approximately 50 schools attended the three‐day conference, out of 129 Dance Marathons in the
country.

“It’s an honor that they chose our Web site as the best one in the country,” said External
Communications Overall Chair Kristine Putrino. “We’re actually going to debut a new Web site soon though that will be more user‐friendly, with more advanced graphics.”

Dance Marathon at UF is a 26.2‐hour event in which students pledge to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network and stay on their feet to show their emotional and physical support for the children at Shands Children’s Hospital at UF. Last year, Dance Marathon at UF raised $413,562.34.

The next Dance Marathon at UF will be held April 10‐11, 2010.
